The worst WebPage……….ever

Haiti News Network

This must be the worst and the ugliest website ever.

It has everything that should not be on a website, disorganized, messy, poor color combinations, and no menu, or maybe I have not found them yet.

Poor bastard that will be responsible for making changes on this site, it can’t be easy to change “links” or whatever the hell it is now, on this page.

In any case, The “webmaster” on this page must be proud, it must be quite difficult to take home the price as they must ugliest and also the worst site of  all Webs in same time.

Anyway, follow this >>link. And you will see how a web page NOT should be……….

Rss-Feeds in my sidebar

I have now two RSS-feed in my sidebar.
One is from a good friend site, AlcudiaBarfly, he is writing little about what happen in Alcudia, is really worth a visit.

The other one is Mike Tawse, and the remarkable story of “The ‘Miracle’ Enzyme”, Serrapeptase, which gave back, hes life in January 2006.

New designe.

I have moved the sidebar, change the header, changes the widget (this part is not ready yet) and different coulurs. And a lots of changes in the CSS-file.

Simply, a new theme, that has got the original name WebAlvarez…………………..

Professional Photo-Editing

Sometimes you will find “THAT” program.
That makes life so much easier. Picnic is one such program,
Picknic is an image editing program that is completely web based, can be linked to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, ect. ect.
There are two versions, the free which is sufficient for many, while “Pro version” only costs $ 2.08 if you pay for one year, otherwise it costs $ 4.95 a month. For this price you get a complete package of editing tools.
All this can be done in Photoshop, but it is much more time consuming, and for people who do not have access to this program or do not know how to do, or like I say ….” why make life more complicated than it is “
Finally, Picnic will never be able to replace Photoshop, but for a quick and easy editing, this is a fantastic program

Windows vs. Linux

Just read in a Swedish newspaper called DatorMagazinet about Windows 7 for netbooks, and I think this is the first time ever that this magazine puts the “best in test” to a Windows product, while Linux Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix was worst in test. Other operating systems were Intel Moblin V2, Windows XP and Linux Mint 7
I currently work in Windows 7, and I must say that this version is actually very stable.

IE have security holes……….again!!

After last week’s reports of a serious security hole in Internet Explorer browser, Microsoft has decided to do a quick update of the program to close the open doors.

So far is only versions of Internet Explorer 6, that have been exposed to hacker attacks. But the problem affects as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 for the Microsoft support versions of Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. As you can see, more and less all the microsoft OS program that involve IE, sad but true.

Microsoft is working at full speed to get a quick security update that will solve the problems.

Again, we must all ask ourselves! Why do we use IE.
(My personal opinion), Windows IE, is not better than Firefox, Chrome or Safari, but yet, it still useda by 40-45% of the market, very strange ………….

Google will not censor any longer.

Google agreed some years ago that their search engine would be censored in China, with many protests from around the world.
Google would now like to terminate this censure and start a dialogue with the Chinese authorities.

This must probably be the first time that a major international, high-tech company are challenging Beijing and this sends a strong signal to the Chinese leaders.
If it would go so far that Google will leave China, then it would be an economic setback.

In China, there are 350 million Internet users, and it is estimated that Google has about 30% of these (the largest search engine in China is Baidu).

So Google will lose business if they leave China, but will win a lot of Godwill.

New domains

Just bought 3 new domains, from GoDaddy……….

However, is one thing I always wonder over, where the hell did they get the name GoDaddy from?

Facebook plugin is not working

I have now tried a different plugin for auto sharing my post on Facebook…………
Its sucks,  I have tried Wordbook, Wordbooker and full circle. And I could not get any of them to work.

Full circle working great with twitter, but the code what you will need from Facebook was impossible to find, went to different forum, and I was not the only one with the same problem.
Wordbook and Wordbooker give an error in the php-code, and I’m not interesting to try to sort it, so its very easy……….

I’m not gonna auto-put my post on Facebook, and that will be the end of the story.

Alternative web browsers

Browser you dident know about!

The big ones, Firefox, IE, Opera and Chrome have almost whole market when it comes to web browser.  However, there are lots  more.
I personally think that the 4 big ones, will always be “the four big ones” they are already too big. Anyway I will list 5 more, for the OS, Windows.

Maxthon is a highly configurable browser that places an emphasis on security. It has a built-in Ad Hunter that blocks most ads, as well as security features to prevent spyware, malware, and viruses. It lets you fully customize your browsing experience (you can choose between using menus, hot keys, word aliases, toolbars, or mouse gestures, plus there are more than 1,400 plug-ins to add functionality). It has filters available to block irritating or offensive content.
Other Maxthon features include a built-in screen capture tool, URL aliases for faster surfing, a built-in feed reader, an online favorites service, advanced proxy rules, and an anti-freeze feature.
Why you should consider it:
If you want a customizable browser, Maxthon might be what you’re looking for; it’s built specifically for power users. Between plugins, skins, filter packs, and other customizable features, it truly lets you personalize your browsing experience. For parents concerned about their children’s’ activities online, the filters for blocking content can be reassuring.

Sleipnir is very popular in Japan with a majority share in the country. It’s a profoundly customizable browser that maintains speed and performance despite customizations. There are skins and plugins available for it, letting you change the design and settings of the browser to suit your needs. And as all good browsers should, it stresses on security and usability, and allows for tabbed browsing.
Why you should consider it:
Sleipnir is an option if you want a highly customizable browsing experience.

Lunascape
is the world’s first and only triple engine browser. That’s right: it’s a hybrid browser that runs on Gecko, Trident, and WebKit. It supports plugins and add-ons from Firefox, Internet Explorer, as well as their own plugin platform. It’s touted to be faster and lighter than many other browser options.
Why you should consider it:
If you find yourself constantly switching back and forth between browsers (either for cross-browser testing of web designs or because of add-ons available only to Firefox or Internet Explorer), Lunascape is a perfect fit for you.

SeaMonkey is developed by Mozilla and is an “all-in-one” internet suite of apps. While the browser within SeaMonkey is pretty standard (and not unlike Firefox), what sets it apart is that it has integrated email, newsgroups, an HTML editor, IRC Chat, and web development tools. The mail feature offers tabbed reading and supports tagging and alternate views for better email finding and reading. The HTML editor renders CSS and gives you dynamic image and table resizing. For web developers, you can take advantage of the JavaScript debugger and a DOM inspector.
Why you should consider it:
For developers and designers, SeaMonkey has a plethora of useful built-in features. It’s also a great option for people who like to run the bare minimum number of apps.

Flock is probably better known than many of the other browsers above, especially if you’re a social media addict. Flock was created specifically to make managing your social media activities easier from within your browser.
Flock focuses on staying connected through social media by making sharing and publishing things easier. It integrates directly with Facebook, Gmail, Digg, YouTube, MySpace, Flickr, Twitter, WordPress, Blogger, Delicious, Bebo, TypePad, Picasa, and more. Special features include a People sidebar, a Media bar (to browse photos and videos from your favorite sites), a built-in feed reader, a photo uploader, a blog editor, and more. There are also extensions and custom themes available for download.
Why you should consider it:
Flock is a great choice for social media power users who want to be able to connect with all their social media accounts from one place.
