About Me
My name is Pedro Alvarez, And I am addicted
To everything that have to do with computer and technology. I bought my first computer when I was 16, the year was 1984, and the graphics were 256 colours, which at that time was fantastic, I was very proud, my computer had 1mb memory, “almost” twice as much as Bill Gates 3 years before had said that “we will never need more 640Kb”, today we know who wrong he was.
At that time Dos was the main software in the computer, actually is also today, but now is running more in the background. Today, Microsoft Windows manages that part. Back at that time, we was first needed to install Dos, before we could install anything else. Thats why lots of the younger don’t know what Dos is.
In 1991, I come in contact with Corel Draw, in that time it was version 2.0 (Corel Draw is an image-editing/design program), and my interest in design was started. 1998 I start using Photoshop it was version 5,0. 4 years after (2002) I also including InDesigne in my skills, and 2005 Flash was added. Today I mainly using Adobe graphics programs (Photoshop, InDesign, flash ect. ect.)
In 2003, I discovered Linux thru a friend, and after trying some of the Linux distributions, such as Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSe I found Debian, And thats what im on to today with desktop environment KDE, next to Windows 7.
Today I am a full-time employee web-developer and designer, so I spend 12-14h in front of the computer and internet daily, and I love it. …………
