About Me
My name is Pedro Alvarez, I was born in Sweden in 1968.
I had an early interest in computer and technology, and I bought my first computer when I was 16, the year was 1984, and the graphics were 256 colours, which at that time was fantastic, and I was very proud, my computer had 1mb memory, “almost” twice as much as Bill Gates 3 years before had said that “we will never need more 640Kb”, today we know who wrong he was.
At that time Dos was the main software in the computer, it actually also like this today, but it is running more in the background, now manages Microsoft Windows that part, at this time the first we were needed to install was Dos, before we even could think to install anything else. Today lots of the younger don’t know what Dos is.
In 1991, was my first contact with Corel Draw, in that time it was version 2.0 Corel Draw is an image-editing/design program, Then my interest in design started. Today I have stopped working with CorelDraw and works now only with Adobe graphics programs (Photoshop, InDesign, ect. Ect.)
In 2003, I discovered Linux, and after trying on some of the Linux distributions, such as Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSe and Debian, as I work in today with the desktop environment KDE, next to Windows 7.
Today I am a full-time employee for works on the web, so it spent 12-14h in front of the computer and internet daily, and I love it. …………
