Iphone still bigger than Android
According to a new study leads Iphone operating system is still over Android.
The study is conducted by Chitika ad network based on figures from over 80 000 sites, mainly from the United States. The study was conducted during the first two weeks in July recorded about 9 million handsets in Ios, compared with about 7.7 million phones running Android.
Android growth is impressive given that the iPhone and Ios has been around for almost two years before Android was released. Android has the advantage that it’s on handsets from a variety of manufacturers so that it had a rapid growth.
According Chitika so run now almost exactly half of all iPhone Ios 4, Apple’s latest mobile operating system, released last month.
Among Androidtelefoner majority Android uses a 2.1 with a share of 55 percent. Android 2.2 (Froyo), released a few weeks ago running as yet only 3.3 percent of all Androidtelefoner. As 40 percent of Android-users still running on Android version 1.5 or 1.6.
Motorola Droid X vs. Iphone
Today, Thursday, July 15 Motorola released their new smart phone Droid X.
First up in the U.S. to begin selling Droid X is in the U.S. operator Verizon Wireless
The Android-based handset has received good reviews after a series of previews.
With a 4.3-inch screen, good multimedia features and a relatively long battery life compared to many competitors. Although it is unlikely to be so Droid X comes up in sales levels for the iPhone, but it have been showing signs of a great interest in Motorola’s new mobile. Zeus Kerravala, who is an analyst at Yankee Group, says that the earier release of Droid X that is to use all the bad publicity Iphone 4.
Verizon has not been slow to exploit antenna problems of Iphone 4, as a consumer magazine Consumer Reports recently warned. In the ads, the company produced exclusively to Droid X “dual antennas” which allows the user to “hold the phone how you want” and use it from anywhere to call.
Given that the iPhone sold four of 1.7 million copies the first three days, it is clear that it is the product of focus when it comes to competitors. U.S. retailer Best Buy have stopped all advance orders, and Verizon Wireless expects that the mobile phone runs out of stocks.
Droid X are using the operating system Android 2.1, an one update to Flash 2.2 and 1.10 later this year.
Talibans + Apples iPhone= ♥
Departmenten of defends worldwide are concern about the Taliban in Afghanistan starting to use smart phones like the iPhone.
The Taliban once again started to gain ground in Afghanistan.
According to Matt Yanopoilos of the Australian Department of Defence and he claims that this is because the Taliban have begun to invest in modern information technology.
Matt Yanopoilos says that the Taliban use the iPhone and various apps to collect relevant data.
It is well known that the Taliban, like Apple’s mobile. A year ago you could read that Mullah Zaif (known Taliban) used his iPhone to all sorts of things, Mullah Zaif should have said “it is easy to use and modern and I love it”
U.S. Army has now also become curious about the iPhone and other mobile solutions from Apple. High generals and military researchers have cautiously try to begun a partnership with Apple.
Success for Opera Mini
On the App Store’s top-10. Opera Mini is located in the top in all countries except one.
Opera Mini was released last Tuesday, and the Norwegian browser has become a huge success. This app is number one in virtually all countries, Australia is the only country that ranks in second place after the game Bird Strike.
Apple ♥ Opera
It took 20 days, 8 hours and 31 minutes for Apple to approve Opera Mini for iPhone and iPod tuch.
I have previously written about this, see here.
We should not take to much notice, that it took 20 days, it register lots of apps every day.
So now it is to download it to your device and see if it is as good as Opera says, for if it would be so, then I can not see one that will work with
safari in the future, one thing is for sure, Opera for PC is very good.
Opera wants to take over the Web on the iPhone
Norwegian Opera has now submitted Mini mobile web browser to the App Store.
If Apple will approve a competitor for iPhones Safari remains to be seen.
Analysts believe that Apple will stop Opera, so Apple can continue maintain control over the user’s surfing, say the news-agency Reuters.
Opera showed first up to Opera Mini for iPhone during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The developers say it is “rocket fast.” and claims that Mini load Web pages up to six times faster than the Apple iPhone’s default browser Safari.
The developers say it’s because Opera do compress data by up to 90 percent before it is sent to your mobile. This is an advantage, reducing costs for users that surf without a data plan with a fixed monthly fee, or if you use your iPhone abroad, says Opera.
Operas mini-browser is already available for several other mobile operating systems and will be available in more than 50 million handsets worldwide.
On Opera Mini’s page can you follow the time to see how long time ago it was submitted to iPhone for approve, this looks little like a PR-thing but quite cool if I can say that.
Apple Vs. Google
Some time ago Apple sent a subpoena requests in 20 potential patent states that have been done by HTC. Patent infringement is alleged to have been made in the iPhone hardware and software. Apple writes, for example, the finger used to unlock phones with the operating system Android is stolen from the Iphone. Phones that would infringe the patent Appels include Nexus One and HTC Hero.
HTC has not commented on this before. But during an interview with CEO Jason Mackenzie, Jason says the following:
“HTC strongly disagrees with Apple’s allegations. We will use all legal tools we have to both defend ourselves and to correct any misunderstandings. We feel confident in our innovation and our ability to defend ourselves in this case. ”
Exactly how the company intends to defend itself will Jason do’t says anything about, but Jason, have mentions that a written formal statement will show up sometime in the next few weeks. Furthermore, said Jason Mackenzie, that it took some time depending on the HTC was taken by surprise by the allegations, business representatives found out of whats happened when the press called.
Analysts have speculated about a posteriori that this, really is an indirect attack from Apple to Google underlying operating system in most of the phones in question.
Google was when it came to light, quick to say that the company stands behind HTC and Android.
Steve Ballmer don’t like iPhone
| According to the American magazine, the Wall Street Journal iPhone is a very popular mobile phone of the employees at Microsoft, claiming that more than 10000 of the 100 000 employees, then ten percent. It is widely known that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer did not appreciate when employees choose something other than a mobile phone with Windows Phone (formerly known as Windows Mobile). It is also said to Ballmer, in September last year must have pulled an iPhone out of the hands of a subordinate, put it on the floor and indicated that he had a mind to crush it. In the same year at a meeting shall Steve Ballmer has said the following “My father worked at Ford in Detroit, where it was obvious that the employees drove Ford” In this context it may be time to recall the classic interview in 2007 with Steve Ballmer is laughing and waving away the iPhone’s chances in the mobile market. He does not have enough today, according to the latest statistics, it appears that Apple now has 25.1 percent of the U.S. smartphone market, and Microsoft “only” has 15.7 percent. |
Is Sony Ericsson really that stupid???
Sony Ericsson’s new Swedish CEO Bert Nordberg has in a interviuv, made some strange statements. It seems that he has not understood anything about today’s mobile market.
That he condemns the Iphone is fully in line with what Sony Ericsson had done since Apple started making mobiles.
“Shall some fuckers to newcomers come here and think they can make better phones than us,” was Sony Ericsson’s statement
But the fact is that lots of buyers choose Iphone infront of Sony Ericsson’s mobile phones, the answer to this, according to SonyEricsson is, that they have younger buyers, this is a weird comment, today we see iPhone-users in virtually all ages.
Further says Bert Nordberg that he does not believe in Apple’s business model. Sales figures should tell their distinctive language on this point. Apple has only made money on their mobile phones since they started, 2007th, Sony Ericsson has not earned any money but instead has made large losses and kick people, since 2007.
Looking forward to another apple product, iTunes, which has sold 7 billion songs, well, same thing can be said here. Sales figures should tell their distinctive language on this point.
But Bert Nordgren says one thing that I think many may agree with, iPhone is technically not as good than many other mobiles. But not all agree with this. I do, and im using iPhone, and as I feel now, I will never change to another mobile operative system.
If the rest of the lead in the Sony Ericsson thinks that Bert Nordberg, and believe that customers think it is so important to be able to change the battery when the phone is old, than they will choose Sony Ericsson instead of Apple. But the last years mobile-market has says different. Then Sony Ericsson can probably count on even more losses, and fired more people.
Opera is six times faster than Safari on the iPhone.
The Norwegian browser Opera claims that their mobile browser is six times faster then Safari, on iPhones.
This was presented during the Mobile World Congress where the Operating system used a developer version of the iPhone in order to demonstrate the high speed.
However, this super-fast Web browser will proberly never be used by ordinary users, Apple does not currently allow third-party browser for iPhone.
10 billion downloads in iTunes
Last year Apple announced that one billion downloads of programs in the App Store was reached. Now it’s time for another milestone, soon have iTunes store sold 10 billion songs.
Apple managed to revolutionize the music industry when the iTunes Music Store was launched in 2003. It offered better prices and you could quickly and easily download album after album. The purchase of digital music increased exponentially and the success continued with television shows and movies (which unfortunately still only available in a few countries).
2006 iTunes reached one billion downloaded songs from the iTunes Music Store. And now they will soon reach 10 billion songs. iTunes celebrate this with organizing a contest where one person can win an iTunes gift card worth $ 10 000.
