Another rumor.
Google is in talks with Hollywood about a global pay per view service at the end of 2010.
In autumn, is the first products with the new standard Google TV (simplified film and the Internet directly into your TV) coming and now it is rumored that Google is at once a revolutionary video service. Financial Times reports that Google will start with pay per view in the near future and it will be one Youtube channel.
According to the newspaper, Google have for several months talking with several Hollywood studios about launching an international film service at the end of this year.
Its sad that the price will be, $ 5 for new titles (stream) that becomes available while the release on DVD / Blu-ray. Given the rumors of the updated Apple TV so it can be an exciting fall / winter for us film geeks.
Googles = Tablet-PC. True or not.
Google did not succeed with its focus on smartphones (Nexus One), which is no longer sold directly from Google.
But now it is rumored that they will launch a tablet PC this winter.
The information said to come from a source with good insight into Google, and according to this the tablet-PC will be launched on 26 November and run Chrome OS operating system. As with the Nexus One, the tablet-PC will also be manufactured by the famous smartphone manufacturer HTC.
I want to emphasize that this is only one unofficial rumors so far. The source of the rumors is a whistle-blowers quoted by the website Download Squad, and there are quite convinced that the truth is high.
Google ♥ Gay
Are you gay and dreaming of a job at Google?
It will be a good deal.
IT giant Google will pay its U.S. employees who are homosexuals higher salaries than those with hetrosexuell orientation.
They want to offset the higher taxes that lesbians and gay people under U.S. law need to pay. Google is already known to be a benevolent employer. Employees are offered free food and free laundry, medical treatment and five months’ maternity leave with full pay. Longer duration than many other U.S. companies offer their staff, according to The New York Times.
Besides all these benefits they are now raising the salaries for homosexuals.
When an employee’s partner is offered health insurance through the employer is a tax-free benefit – but only for married heterosexual couples. For homosexuals to the insurance benefit taxed. Therefore, will Google raise their salaries, to make their net income equivalent to heterosexual. On average, it becomes a rice of the wage 750 €/year.
The new wage was introduced after lifting one of Google’s hiring pointed out the injustice of the human resources manager Laszlo Boch. Still, he can not estimate how much it will cost the company.
While wages are increased for homosexuals also offered the same favorable parental leave as heterosexual couples. U.S. Google has 20 600 employees and still do not know how many people are affected by the new rules, but their internal gay-club has 700 members.
Woman Follows Google Maps “Walking” Directions, Gets Hit, Sues
This text is copied directley from SearchEngineLand
Is Google responsible for giving out bad directions through its Google Maps service?
We’re about to find out. After Googling walking directions for a trip in Park City, Utah, Lauren Rosenberg claims she was led onto a busy highway, where she was struck by a vehicle. She’s now suing Google for damages.
The case, Rosenberg v. Harwood, was filed in Utah, in the US District Court’s Central Division (Gary Price of ResourceShelf tipped us to it today). Harwood is Patrick Harwood, the person who actually hit Rosenberg, according to the suit. Both Harwood and Google are being sued in the same case, for damages “in excess of $100,000.”
Rosenberg used Google Maps on January 19, 2009, via her Blackberry, to get directions between 96 Daly Street, Park City, Utah and 1710 Prospector Avenue, Park City, Utah. Google provided these, telling her as part of the route to walk for about 1/2 mile along the calm-sounding “Deer Valley Drive.”
That’s an alternative name for that section of Utah State Route 224, a highway that lacks sidewalks, the case says. Rosenberg wasn’t warned about this, putting Google directly at fault in the accident, the case claims:
Defendant Google, through its “Google Maps” service provided Plaintiff Lauren Rosenberg with walking directions that led her out onto Deer valley Drive, a.k.a. State Route 224, a rural highway wit no sidewalks, and a roadway that exhibits motor vehicles traveling at high speeds, that is not reasonably safe for pedestrians.
The Defendant Google expects uses of the walking map site to rely on the accuracy of the walking directions given….
As a direct and proximate cause of Defendant Google’s careless, reckless, and negligent providing of unsafe directions, Plaintiff Laren Rosenberg was led onto a dangerous highway, and was thereby stricken by a motor vehicle…

Facebook is the most popular site
Despite the recent reports about safety on Facebook, which I think is a joke, and therefore refused to comment before.
Facebook is an open comunity, and all those that are stupid enough to posting private things may simply blame them self.
According to the new measurement data from Google, Facebook received 540 million visitors in April, which is equal to 35.2 percent of all people who surf the net in the same period. These users clicked together at 570 billion Facebook pages.
Facebook is thru this the most popular site in the world.
Mac or Linux takes over Google
Google has stopped using Windows.
A security question, according to their press release
Google’s 10 000 employees worldwide will have their Windows computers being replaced by Linux or Mac computers.
The reason is the concern about safety and more hacker attacks that the company suffered from China.
- We do not run Windows anymore. It is a safety issue, “said an employee of Google to the newspaper.
Google has not commented on its policy, but as recently as January, employees use Windows on their laptops, but not on the desktop. Now require approval from the company’s IT manager to install Windows.
One reason is that Windows is known to be more easily attacked by viruses.
But another reason could be that the company want more people to use their own forthcoming operating system, OS Chrome.
Hotmail vs. Gmail
I personally have never understood people who have not left hotmail in favor of Gmail.
Hotmail launched this week their “new” e-mail client …… And, now they beginning to reach the same standard like Gmail, they proudly announces “news” that already exists in Gmail for a long time back.
I have always recommended people to move to Gmail but keep their Hotmail account and check it periodically, and to use Messenger, which, although must admit is much better than Google’s Gtalk, even if I dont use any of them.
But the Gmails Email, Calendar and Office are much better, and Gmail’s spam filters, which probably should be seen today as the best spam filter of all email clients.
I should perhaps be added that this is my personal views

Google Chrome i new “Beta”
Google Chrome new beta version 5.0.342.9 have just been released.
Version 5.0 of the browser is now being developed and recently released a new Google beta version of the program. Since it is just a beta version, the program can still be buggy and unstable, which should be borne in mind before installing.
Google’s Chrome browser has a very short time built up a loyal band of users and is the browser that is constantly increasing in various studies done on the various web readers’ shares on the market.
Google is challenging China
Google has since January threatened China (About this you can read one of my earlier post) with that they want/are going to stop censorship of its search engine in the country.
On Monday, Google has now made seriousness of their threat and left to censor search results in China.
With the text “Welcome to Google China’s new home.” greeted visitors who are trying to reach Google.cn then they are sent to Hong Kong-based Google.com.hk. With that, Google has now closed their Chinese search engine,
On Google.com.hk the censors is not that hard as it is on the Chinese search engine. One example is that on Google.com.hk can you find the famous image from Tiananmen Square, this is an example of material that Google has agreed to keep away from its users in China before.
It now remains to be seen whether users in China can reach google.com.hk or if this address will be blocked in the system that the government uses to control Internet access in the country.
The Chinese authorities have been in intense negotiations with representatives from Google and 12 January, Google announced that it no longer intends to put up on the Chinese regime’s requirements to filter search results, although if this would mean that the local search engine will be closed , or that Google must leave the country. It is believed that this decision is alleged to have been preceded by extensive intrusion attempts against Google and its users.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt has said that they always has insisted that the goal is to stay in China, but that it will not back from the requirement to remove the censorship from the search engine.
Apple Vs. Google
Some time ago Apple sent a subpoena requests in 20 potential patent states that have been done by HTC. Patent infringement is alleged to have been made in the iPhone hardware and software. Apple writes, for example, the finger used to unlock phones with the operating system Android is stolen from the Iphone. Phones that would infringe the patent Appels include Nexus One and HTC Hero.
HTC has not commented on this before. But during an interview with CEO Jason Mackenzie, Jason says the following:
“HTC strongly disagrees with Apple’s allegations. We will use all legal tools we have to both defend ourselves and to correct any misunderstandings. We feel confident in our innovation and our ability to defend ourselves in this case. ”
Exactly how the company intends to defend itself will Jason do’t says anything about, but Jason, have mentions that a written formal statement will show up sometime in the next few weeks. Furthermore, said Jason Mackenzie, that it took some time depending on the HTC was taken by surprise by the allegations, business representatives found out of whats happened when the press called.
Analysts have speculated about a posteriori that this, really is an indirect attack from Apple to Google underlying operating system in most of the phones in question.
Google was when it came to light, quick to say that the company stands behind HTC and Android.
Facebook has more traffic than Google.
Last week, Facebook have the most traffic of Internet in the United States. Figures from Experian Hitwise showed that they had 7.07 percent of Internet traffic. That meens Facebook had more traffic then Google.
Facebook accounted for 7.07 percent of the traffic which is 0.4 percentage points more than Google, which had 7.03 per cent. Quite scary, what are people doing on the internet these days? Playing farmaville?
Google buys up everything. Good or bad?
Of these 8 companies, the price of three escaped, and it is a sum of 805 million U.S. dollars, the price of the other 5 companies are not yet known.
So in just five months, Google has now bought eight companies, and people have started talking about the takeover mania that hit the company during the golden year 2007, which ended the takeover of 16 companies purchased, and seven purchases were made in two months.
Fields characterizing the purchase of companies are particularly mobility and collaboration.
Here are all of Google’s company that recent have been bought, which began in November last year, For more information about the companies, click on the links.
Gizmo5 - Gizmo5 delivers programs and services of IP telephony for both mobile phones and computers in a Skype-model, which allows users to make free calls over the Internet.
Tera Cent – is yet another ad company. The company offers the possibility of using algorithms to tailor ads and find just the right combination of color, image and text that makes the recipient clicks hungry.
Appjet - Appjet is a provider of co-grazing tool Etherpad, and was started by a few of Google x-employes for only two years ago. The service offers similar functionality as Google’s own newly launched tool, Google Wave.
Aardvark - Is an alternative to the question-answer-service competitor, Yahoo Answers, and also to some extent an alternative to search engines.
Remail - E-mail reader Remail originally developed for Apple iPhone and was praised by users for its superior search functionality.
Picnik - Image Processing Tool Picnic lets users move their image processing to the cloud. The acquisition can be seen as an attack on Adobe, which in addition to its dominant software Photoshop also offers image enhancement on the net in simplified form.
Docverse - The purchase of Docverse is a frontal assault on Microsoft and discarded akon Office. Docverse offers namely Office users the ability to easily work together in the cloud.
Google has the patent on your location.
Google has finally won the right to a patent for advertising based on your location.
Google’s patent was registered in September 2003 but was not approved until last week. The patent is a technology to display ads based on where a certain person is present
Google bought at the end of last year, up Admob company specializing in localized advertising. Even Apple jumped on the train and purchased in January this year, the ad firm Quattro Wireless, which spent the same.
Localized advertising makes it possible to customize ads based on where a person is. Above all, it is thought that the ads should be served on a mobile device like a smartphone or PDA.
Google buying Aardvark
Google has now verified that they are buying Aardvark for approximately 50 million U.S. dollars.
Aardvark is an Internet service, you can ask a question about anything and get the matter sent to another member who is an expert in that particular area. And they often get responses within minutes.
Communication takes place over instant messaging, which indicates the client prefers, Google Talk or Live for example.
Aardvark was started by former employees of Google have now around 90000 users. People with different skills and specializations that will be used to answer the sometimes most bizarre questions.
It feels completely logical that Google just buy this smart service in its ambition to gather all the information and knowledge. Aardvark ‘s with their human knowledge pulp a perfect complement to all your information Google already collects.
Google will not censor any longer.
Google agreed some years ago that their search engine would be censored in China, with many protests from around the world.
Google would now like to terminate this censure and start a dialogue with the Chinese authorities.
This must probably be the first time that a major international, high-tech company are challenging Beijing and this sends a strong signal to the Chinese leaders.
If it would go so far that Google will leave China, then it would be an economic setback.
In China, there are 350 million Internet users, and it is estimated that Google has about 30% of these (the largest search engine in China is Baidu).
So Google will lose business if they leave China, but will win a lot of Godwill.
Google Wave
I really believe that Google Wave will be the future, if you click here. (PopUp) You will get one demonstration from when Google lunch this app. As I see it, the problem is! It’s not enough people that use it, people don’t know about it, or they don’t understand it.
Here can you can see a shorter explanation what Google can do if you think the other clip is too long.
