• Microsoft launches Windows 95
• Microsoft and the Justice Department in the U.S. come to an agreement concerning the licensing of Windows for the next six years, after a 4 years long investigation into Microsoft’s monopolistic practices

• Microsoft is launching what they call Windows Genuine Advantage. in a step to try to stop piracy of their programs
