Success for Opera Mini

On the App Store’s top-10. Opera Mini is located in the top in all countries except one.

Opera Mini was released last Tuesday, and the Norwegian browser has become a huge success. This app is number one in virtually all countries, Australia is the only country that ranks in second place after the game Bird Strike.

Apple ♥ Opera

It took 20 days, 8 hours and 31 minutes for Apple to approve Opera Mini for iPhone and iPod tuch.
I have previously written about this, see here.
We should not take to much notice, that it took 20 days, it register lots of apps every day.
So now it is to download it to your device and see if it is as good as Opera says, for if it would be so, then I can not see one that will work with
safari in the future, one thing is for sure, Opera for PC is very good.

Google Chrome i new “Beta”

Google Chrome new beta version 5.0.342.9 have just been released.
Version 5.0 of the browser is now being developed and recently released a new Google beta version of the program. Since it is just a beta version, the program can still be buggy and unstable, which should be borne in mind before installing.
Google’s Chrome browser has a very short time built up a loyal band of users and is the browser that is constantly increasing in various studies done on the various web readers’ shares on the market.

Opera wants to take over the Web on the iPhone

Norwegian Opera has now submitted Mini mobile web browser to the App Store.
If Apple will approve a competitor for iPhones Safari remains to be seen.

Analysts believe that Apple will stop Opera, so Apple can continue maintain control over the user’s surfing, say the news-agency Reuters.

Opera showed first up to Opera Mini for iPhone during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The developers say it is “rocket fast.” and claims that Mini load Web pages up to six times faster than the Apple iPhone’s default browser Safari.
The developers say it’s because Opera do compress data by up to 90 percent before it is sent to your mobile. This is an advantage, reducing costs for users that surf without a data plan with a fixed monthly fee, or if you use your iPhone abroad, says Opera.

Operas mini-browser is already available for several other mobile operating systems and will be available in more than 50 million handsets worldwide.

On Opera Mini’s page can you follow the time to see how long time ago it was submitted to iPhone for approve, this looks little like a PR-thing but quite cool if I can say that.

Is Sony Ericsson really that stupid???

Sony Ericsson’s new Swedish CEO Bert Nordberg has in a interviuv, made some strange statements. It seems that he has not understood anything about today’s mobile market.

That he condemns the Iphone is fully in line with what Sony Ericsson had done since Apple started making mobiles.
“Shall some fuckers to newcomers come here and think they can make better phones than us,” was Sony Ericsson’s statement
But the fact is that lots of buyers choose Iphone infront of Sony Ericsson’s mobile phones, the answer to this, according to SonyEricsson is, that they have younger buyers, this is a weird comment, today we see iPhone-users in virtually all ages.

Further says Bert Nordberg that he does not believe in Apple’s business model. Sales figures should tell their distinctive language on this point. Apple has only made money on their mobile phones since they started, 2007th, Sony Ericsson has not earned any money but instead has made large losses and kick people, since 2007.
Looking forward to another apple product, iTunes, which has sold 7 billion songs, well, same thing can be said here. Sales figures should tell their distinctive language on this point.

But Bert Nordgren says one thing that I think many may agree with, iPhone is technically not as good than many other mobiles. But not all agree with this. I do, and im using iPhone, and as I feel now, I will never change to another mobile operative system.

If the rest of the lead in the Sony Ericsson thinks that Bert Nordberg, and believe that customers think it is so important to be able to change the battery when the phone is old, than they will choose Sony Ericsson instead of Apple. But the last years mobile-market has says different. Then Sony Ericsson can probably count on even more losses, and fired more people.

According to the Commission affected over 100 million users in Europe.

This update contains a new browser window in which the 12 most popular web browsers – including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Opera – are presented in random order, with information on programs from the respective developers. The user can choose to install one or more browsers.

The contents of the browser election and will be updated every six months. Even now you can see how it looks on www.browserchoice.eu.
The update is automatically installed via Windows Update or the user is encouraged to download and install it, depending on what operating system you use. Microsoft said that those who do not have automatic updates enabled browser can get through the election to check for new updates on Windows Update. Companies can make their IT department to take care of the election.

Background:
The commission said that Microsoft, for many years are automatically tied the Internet Explorer browser to Windows. The Commission believes that Microsoft’s dominance is likely to restrict the user’s choice of browser and also hit the company’s competitors and lead to fewer innovative products on the market.
In October 2009 Microsoft promises to implement a number of measures to eliminate the EU Commission believes impede competition. A few months later, those promises are made legally binding for a period of five years.
