Firefox will never be ready!
Mozilla has created a web page with a counter that shows how many bugs are left in Firefox 4 before the browser can be released.
Firefox 4 has been delayed several times after the first plan to release the browser in November last year. Yesterday Mozilla announced that the next test version, Beta 12, probably released early next week.
Mozilla said last month that the company hopes to release the final test version, called a rc version, before the end of February. It now looks as if the plans can be difficult to reach and it leans more towards the beginning of March.
In addition, Mozilla announced yesterday that the company will release security updates for Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 on Tuesday. Firefox 3.5.17 and Firefox 3.6.14 will contain the security updates that are related to Adobe software, such as Flash and Reader.
The address of the page you will find on CanWeShipYet.com but on you’re a Firefox fan, you should not visit it more than once. Yesterday it stood at 17 bugs, but now when I writing this post is on 18 bugs, dont know if I dear to go back…

Microsoft Explorer 9RC
Microsoft has released a new version of its popular Web browsers Internet Explorer 9 RC and with this they take a big step towards to a final product. With more than 25 million downloads of the first beta version, shows that there are a big interest, and Microsoft has worked hard on improving the browser.
With Internet Explorer 9 RC (Release Candidate), has all the features been ready and just bugs remain to be resolved. The finished version is expected to be launched during the Mix11 which takes place in April. It has been five months since the beta version was released and at that time the development team has made many changes. Here are some of the biggest and most noteworthy.
- Strong performance boost when running JavaScript, up to 35% against IE9 beta version.
- Tabs can now be viewed on its own line instead of to the right of the address bar
- Better control of ActiveX with separate settings for each Web site
- Geolocation with GPS support
- The function Tracking Protection improves the integrity and security
- Native support for WebM Video
- Several changes in the interface
- Power management has improved and is integrated with Windows power settings
- Improved support for Web standards, HTML5 and CSS
Tracking Protection is a new feature to give the user more security on the Internet and protecting personal privacy. This is done by including preventing sources from third parties from taking advantage of web history. These sources may include the ad system to display targeted ads to visitors to increase the chance that someone clicks.
Statistics from NetMarketShare shows that the Internet Explorer browser is steadily declining in the number of users for the benefit of Google Chrome that quickly grows on Microsoft’s expense. Since March 2010, all versions of Internet Explorer have lost a total of more than four percent, and Google Chrome has increased correspondingly.
Android 2.4 or not?
There have been many smart phones in the first quarter of 2011 with Android 2.3.
But the operating system will get an update to 2.4. Already in April, Google is expected to finalize the next version, which claimed to have only one major function, namely to provide support for applications that are customized for Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and dual-core processors.
The fact that all the information around the Android 2.4 does not come directly from Google has caused many to distrust the data. The Website DownloadSquad say they believe more that Android 2.4 will instead be 2.3.3 or 2.3.4.
Still, are not all smartphones on the market today received the Android 2.2 or 2.3. Several manufacturers of smartphones are still optimizes 2.2 for their models and some have chosen not to update at all. Sony Ericsson for example, has said that the Xperia series, will not get Android 2.2 it will jump straight to 2.3 or 2.4 with the upcoming Sony Ericsson Arc and Neo.
A problem that already exists today is that consumers do not know which models will be updated and need to chance when purchase. Generally, the more expensive models are maintained better, while the budget variations are more uncertain. The manufacturers can not guarantee future updates, but users are in great hope for the best.

For Windows users who want to retain control over whether an update should be done or not, will it be possible to set the silent update to active or not. In practice this means that developers using Adobe Flash can have their applications approved for the App Store. It does not mean that the iPhone will support Flash in general. Has Microsoft bet on wrong horse again?….. Again!
While companies like Google and Mozilla (Firefox) pays rewards of up to $ 2000 for the discovery of critical security holes in its browser, Microsoft has gone a different way.
In a blog post on their MSRC (Microsoft Security Response Center) can you read that they have considered this but feel it is better to reward the security industry, and this is done by sponsoring security conference Black Hat.
The question is whether this is the right decision, given that Internet Explorer is not at all have the same security as Firefox and Chrome, according to all kind of different tests.
