July 5 years ago.

• Microsoft and IBM agree in court, which means that Microsoft must pay $ 775 million in cash and $ 75 million in software
• Apple releases Mac OS X 10.4.2
• IBM announces that support for OS / 2 will end at the end of the year
• Microsoft is launching what they call Windows Genuine Advantage. in a step to try to stop piracy of their programs
